Withdrawing material accompanying single-volume monographs shelved separately (Many Subject Specialty Libraries)

Choose the correct procedure below depending on if a holdings record is present or not.

Single-volume monographs with no holdings record

In the Item Record for the primary material

  1. Add an OPAC Note (p) that notes the accompanying material is no longer available (see Note Formats)
  2. Since accompanying material shelved separately has its own item record and should not be linked to a Holdings Record, withdraw it according to the procedures for withdrawal of a single volume monograph.

Single-volume monographs with holdings record

In the Item Record for the primary material

  1. Add an OPAC Note (p) that notes the accompanying material is no longer available (see Note Formats)
  2. Unlink items from holdings record and mark holdings record for deletion .
  3. Since the accompanying material shelved separately is no longer linked to a Holdings Record, withdraw it according to the procedures for withdrawal of a single volume monograph.
