Patrons who have proxy server access

The following patron types have proxy server access if their patron record is not expired, do not have overdue recalls and do not have a manual block:

  • UCB faculty (including emeritus faculty) and academic staff with a current academic appointment: ptype = 4 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UCB staff with executive or management appointments: ptype = 5 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UCB library staff: ptype = 6 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)

The following patron types have proxy server access if their patron record is not expired, do not have autoblocked overdue items or recalls, do not have a manual block, and do not owe $50 or more in fines/bills:

  • UCB undergraduate students: ptype = 1 or 2 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UCB graduate students: ptype = 3 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UCB non-academic staff: ptype = 7 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UCB Visiting Scholars: ptype = 22 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UCB Post-docs: ptype = 12 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UC Extension faculty and staff: ptype = 15, 5, or 7 and pcode1 = e
  • UCB Concurrent Enrollment Students (through UC Extension): ptype =1 and pcode1= 0 (zero)
  • LBNL and LLNL Post-Docs: ptype = 18 and pcode1 = i or j
  • LBNL non-academic staff (NOT guest, temp, retired, or contractor): ptype = 18 and pcode1 = i

The Following patron types have proxy access if they set up a library account at the Privileges Desk and their patron record is not expired, do not have autoblocked overdue items or recalls, do not have a manual block, and do not owe $50 or morein fines/bills:

  • LBNL Academic Staff: ptype = 17 and pcode1 = i
  • UCB retired faculty and academic and non-academic staff: ptype =4, 6, or 7 and pcode1 =  0 (zero)
  • UCB Cross Registered Students: ptype = 1 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UCB Extension students: ptype = 16 and pcode1 = e
  • UCB Concurrent Enrollment Students (through community college or other UC): ptype = 1 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • Unregistered UCB students (including those on filing fee): ptype = 1 or 3  and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • UCOP staff: ptype = 23 and pcode1 = c
  • Howard Hughes Medical Institute staff: ptype = 21 and pcode1 = h

The following patron types have proxy access if their account is set up per the request of campus staff in their affiliated department and if their patron record is  not expired, do not have autoblocked overdue items or recalls, do not have a manual block, and do not owe $50 or more in fines/bills:

  • Patrons affiliated with the School of Social Welfare: ptype = 4 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • Alumni Association Staff: ptype = 35 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
  • Haas Columbia Business School Exchange Students: ptype = 12 and pcode1 = 0 (zero)
