OCLC overlay field protection

Fields protected in the OCLC export table are listed below.  Protected means that an incoming record that replaces a given record in Millennium will protect (preserve) the following fields in the existing Millennium record instead of replacing them. This can result in duplication if the same field/data also exists in the OCLC record.

Note that in order for the MARC tag to be protected, it must also be assigned the correct variable length field tag.  For example, a “y” tagged 035 would not be protected from overlay; only an “o” tagged 035 is protected.
