Electronic Resource Unit – adding of 856 fields

After access and holdings have been confirmed and tested:

(1)    Look up order record in Millennium.
(2)    Click EDIT button to edit Bib record.
(3)    Position cursor at the end of the last MARC field.
(4)    Use the appropriate Millennium Macro. ERU will input the URLs in every case as 856 40 without making the distinction between an electronic version and a “born digital” electronic resource.
(5)    Save edits.
(6)    Go to Order Record, suppress the order record with Web location (position cursor at Suppress field and select n Suppress).

Macro 1: For purchased resource

Display in Millennium Bib record:

Misc.    856    4    0    |zRestricted to UCB IP addresses.|u

Then copy URL and insert in space after |u, press SAVE

Macro 2: For free resource

Display in Millennium Bib record:

Misc.    856    4    0    |zFreely available.|u

Then copy URL and insert in space after |u, press SAVE

Macro 3:  For password restricted resource (to be input after password information has been entered in the restricted refstaff website)
