Checking for analytics in items

  1. Check the lower left corner of the item record for the material you wish to withdraw. If you see “Also linked to record(s):” and a bib-record number that is different from the bib-record number in the upper left corner of brief bib display, stop. This may be an analytic. Please consult with BadCat about this withdrawal.
  2. If the item record is not linked to more than one bib record, AND if there is a volume number (v.#, no.#, etc.) in the item-record call# field (090). Check the bib record 990 for the location/call# of the material to be withdrawn. If you see a note in 990 subfield c that has any form of “analytic” (“anal.”, “analyzed”, “anals”, etc.), stop. This is an analytic. Please consult with BadCat about this withdrawal.

Note: You can always check the bib record 990 for an indication of an analytic (for records that migrated from Gladis), provided that the notation was present in the Gladis SLF.

Note: Analytic items cataloged after migration should have the designation “analytic” in an item-record Internal Note.
